The genus name is the synthetic term of the Greek words lasios (thick fur) and cheil (lip), because the lip has a lot of hair. Grows in the mountains of Myanmar, Thailand, and the Malay Peninsula. An evergreen perennial plant. A small species. Bulbs are very fine, the height about 1.5~2 centimeters, pseudo bulb is oval and grows in intervals of about 3 centimeters. Single leaf characteristic. Leaves are thick, oblong, surface is shiny, the top has a shallow notch. Scape is erect, about 3.5 centimeters, with purple markings, one flower in bloom. Leaves are vertical, longitudinal diameter about 3.5 centimeters, rear sepals and petals are dark purple, shown in an inverted T-shape, about 0.18 centimeters long and 0.6 centimeters wide. Two lateral sepals of a yellow background with dark red spots above, about 2.5 centimeters long, the bottom curls, the outer edge of the apex half sticks together. Petals and lip are dark purple, very small, with a hairy edge. Flower size is about 3 centimeters and 1 centimeter wide. Flower has a strawberry fragrance. Flowering period is from winter to spring.
