An autogenous epiphytic orchid located in the lowland areas from Mexico to Brazil. The stem is slightly flat, long and oval, about 5 to 11 centimeters in length, with one leaf growing on top. The leaf is leathery, of an oblong tongue-shape, about 10 to 15 centimeters long. The scape grows on top, erect, about 5 to 15 centimeters long, with about 2 to 8 flowers growing on top. The flower is upside-down, the diameter is about 3.5 centimeters, and is fragrant. The color is a pale yellowish-white, and the lip has purplish-red markings. The flowering season is in spring.
